This year's event was a great start in what we hope will become a Miss Chickpea tradition! We had beautiful, sunny weather-about 80 degrees!-and Peas Love Pink! had near a 100 participants! We received about 75 chemo caps, 30 scarves, and a pair of footies from these participants.  We ended up donating these items personally to Akron General's Cancer Ward, where our pea, Dianne R. volunteers. Safe to say, they were ecstatic! We hope to have actual pictures of some very happy recipients shortly, as Dianne was told that they hope to take personal photos and mention us in their newsletter, as soon as possible. We raised less actual money donations with the Pink! event than we hoped, only a couple hundred dollars for "Susan G. Komen" (I will put the exact figure on the blog as soon as the accountant gets back to me!), but I think the heartfelt appreciation of actual cancer survivors receiving our tactile items was much more satisfying, don't you think? I definitely want to try this event again next year. Hopefully, we will remove the kinks, and have a much more fantastic turnout?! Please keep your eyes posted, K?
